I've been thinking about the courageous role played by Jose's girlfriend in all this. It must be incredibly difficult for her, knowing that he was bringing food to her, just trying to do something sweet and caring, only to lose him in such a sudden and horrifying way. I can't even begin to imagine the guilt and pain she must carry with her—even though none of this was her fault. It just breaks my heart. I hope that, despite how tough it must be, she can find some support and peace. Maybe friends, family, or even people from the community can wrap around her and help share the weight. Does anyone know if there have been any local gatherings or support events organized in her memory or in honor of Jose? Keeping the memory of victims alive in the community can sometimes bring a bit of solace, and maybe it could encourage someone to come forward with new information.
