Hi everyone, I wanted to share my thoughts on the hearing yesterday and see what others think. I can't stop wondering about the emotional burden Roy must have been carrying. Being by someone you love for nearly 70 years and then watching them slowly slip away—it's hard to even imagine. He was present at the court, a frail man in his late 80s, and it struck me how age and circumstances can make life so incredibly complicated. The "mercy killing" argument is a controversial one, and the room seemed divided on it. I don't know how to feel about that. It’s just sad all around because no matter the outcome, a family is forever changed. It makes me think about the conversations we should be having around end-of-life care and support for families dealing with advanced dementia. Sending love to the Laird family and anyone else who finds themselves in similar heartbreaking situations. What are your thoughts?
