Hi everyone, I've been following the tragedy of Alvaro Aguirre's murder in Boyle Heights, and something has been lingering in my mind. What can communities do to foster a sense of safety and encourage witnesses to come forward in cases like this? It's so frustrating knowing that fear and potential retaliation can silence those who might have valuable information. If anyone in the community was around that area back in 2010 or has insights into how the dynamics of fear have changed over the years, I think it would be beneficial to hear your thoughts. It’s been over a decade since Alvaro lost his life, and it’s important we keep the conversation going, not only to honor his memory but to help prevent future tragedies.
