I've been thinking a lot about the tragic events in Hawaiian Gardens and keep coming back to how crucial it was that the deputy was able to intervene when he did. Can you imagine how much worse it could have gotten if Mercado had managed to leave and evade capture? It’s chilling to even consider. We often talk about justice for the victims, and I believe that deputy’s quick actions were an essential part of that justice. It's moments like these that show the impact law enforcement can have when responding to such horrific situations. Sending love and support to Serena's family and everyone affected by this tragedy. It’s a sorrowful reminder of how necessary it is to have strong community ties and support systems in the face of domestic violence.
