I want to take a moment to discuss Anabel Trujillo's role as a Peer Advisor at Hartnell College. It's clear she had a powerful impact on those around her. Being a Peer Advisor in the Extended Opportunity Program & Services, Anabel dedicated herself to helping fellow students navigate their college journey, providing guidance and support. Her loss has undoubtedly created a void not just in her family but in the community she served. It's heartbreaking to think about how her positive influence was stripped away so suddenly. Anabel wasn’t just a victim; she was someone striving to better herself and others. Losing someone who was actively contributing to her community is a tragedy that affects everyone. My thoughts are with her daughters, Jennifer and Lexi, who have lost a mother who clearly cared deeply for them and sought to improve the world they lived in. The investigation continues, and I hope justice for Anabel is served. In the meantime, let’s remember her for the remarkable young woman she was and the positive energy she brought to others. Has anyone heard about any recent efforts or initiatives at Hartnell to honor her legacy? I think it would be a fitting tribute to her incredible spirit.
