Has anyone else been following the case of Robert Gardner Jr.? I can't stop thinking about how the lack of trust between the community and law enforcement played such a huge role in these unsolved cases. It's frustrating—not just for the people investigating, but especially for the families and friends left without answers. I've read that the police department was dealing with staffing shortages back in 2017. It makes me wonder, if there had been more officers available to patrol those high-crime areas or actively work on building relationships with community members, could there have been a different outcome? It’s so crucial for both sides to come together, but it's clear that years of strained relations have made that incredibly difficult to achieve. What do you think it would take for that trust to be rebuilt? Maybe if communities and police departments partnered on more interventions, like those hospital-based violence programs, it could be a start in the right direction. My heart goes out to Gardner's family and all others enduring similar grief. No one deserves to be left in the dark like this.
