Hi everyone, I've been thinking about the investigation (or lack thereof) into Lee Weathersby III and Lamar Broussard's tragic deaths. It's so frustrating and saddening to see these young lives cut short, and yet, almost a decade later, we still have no answers. I can't imagine the pain their family must be going through, having lost not one, but two sons in such a short span of time. What really gets to me is how the community rallies with empathy and support, but despite that, we're still left with cold trails and unanswered questions. I read somewhere that the site where Lee was shot, near 104th Avenue and Walnut Street, has experienced its share of violence over the years. This makes me question the effectiveness of preventive measures and community policing in that area. Why haven't there been more proactive steps taken before things got so out of hand? I'm genuinely curious if there are community initiatives aimed at addressing these issues and if there's any way for us to get involved. Let's keep the memory of Lee and Lamar alive by continuing to discuss their case and support efforts that aim to bring their perpetrators to justice. If anyone has any more information on recent developments or ways we can support the family, please share. These boys deserve justice, and their family deserves peace.

I've been following the Weathersby case, and I just can't imagine what that family is going through. Losing a child is unimaginable, but for Dinyal New to lose both of her sons in such a short time... It's a pain no family should have to endure. I recently read an article mentioning a vigil that the community organized for Lee and Lamar. It was moving to see so many people come together to support the family and honor the boys' memories. But it also makes me wonder: where do we go from here as a community? How do we turn this grief into action to prevent more tragedies? If anyone in the area attended the vigil, was there any talk of community initiatives or steps they are taking to address gun violence? I think it's crucial not only to remember Lee and Lamar but also to push for changes that ensure no other family has to suffer like this.

I can't stop thinking about how Lee's mom has been handling all of this. Losing one child is unimaginable, but two within weeks? Dinyal New has shown incredible strength throughout this whole ordeal. It must be so frustrating and painful to not have any answers or justice for her sons. Her public pleas for information really hit hard, and it's upsetting that there haven't been any arrests yet. I hope that someone comes forward with information soon, not just for justice, but to give this grieving family some peace. As a community, we can’t become numb to these tragedies. Oakland deserves better, and so does this family.
