It's unsettling how violence continues to disrupt communities. Steven Ascencio's tragic death hit close to home for so many in Pasadena, especially since this happened so soon after another young person lost their life to gun violence in the area. I find myself thinking about the trauma that those two surviving teens must be experiencing, not to mention Steven's family and friends. I can't even imagine what it's like to grapple with losing someone so young and full of potential. It seems like Steven was really trying to make something of himself by continuing his education, and it's so unfair that his life was cut short. It's vital for the community to rally around those affected, offering support and pushing for systemic change to prevent more of these senseless acts. I hope someone comes forward with the info the police need. Let's keep Steven and all who've been affected by gun violence in our thoughts as we push for answers and solutions.
