I recently came across the case of Necole Raheem, who tragically lost his life in 2017 on Greenspring Avenue. It's difficult to imagine the pain his family must be feeling, especially given how gun violence has impacted countless families in Baltimore. I was struck by the common theme of unresolved cases like Necole's, which seem all too frequent. Living in a city where so many cases remain unsolved must be incredibly overwhelming for residents. It’s frustrating to think about how hard it is for families to move forward without closure. The inadequacies in community support and strained relationships with law enforcement are leaving many people feeling helpless. I do believe community involvement could potentially bridge this gap. If anyone has ideas about improving police-community relations or knows of grassroots programs addressing these challenges, I’d love to hear more. We need to support each other as a community and work towards change, so families like Necole’s can find the justice they deserve.
