It's truly tough to hear about cases like Ricardo Hernandez's that remain unsolved for so long. I can't even begin to imagine the pain his family and friends must still be enduring. The fact that there wasn't any provocation and still this senseless act of violence occurred is terrifying.
I've been thinking about the role of community involvement in cases like these. It always baffles me how crucial community tips can be for investigations, yet so often people remain silent. I wonder if there's more we could do collectively to foster trust and communication within neighborhoods like Boyle Heights to help bring justice more efficiently.
Does anyone have insights or ideas on how communities can work together to support victims' families and assist law enforcement, apart from what's already done? I'm hoping by fostering more dialogue around this, there can be some steps forward in helping solve cases and preventing new ones.
Has anyone looked into possible surveillance footage from nearby businesses around the time Ricardo Hernandez was shot? It seems like in areas like Boyle Heights, there are usually a lot of cameras, especially near stores and intersections. Even if the liquor store itself didn’t have clear footage, maybe surrounding businesses captured something useful. It’s so frustrating and sad that his family has had to wait so long for answers. I hope that with advancements in technology or someone finally willing to talk, they can get some closure. If anyone around the area has seen anything suspicious from that night, please come forward. Every bit of information can help piece this together for Ricardo’s loved ones.
