Hey everyone, I've been following the Vaughn Riley Jr. case from 2017 quite closely, and I truly can't imagine the pain his loved ones are enduring. I recently started thinking about how the community’s reluctance to cooperate with law enforcement plays into cases like Vaughn's remaining unsolved. It's understandable to be afraid given the circumstances in Baltimore at the time, but it also makes me wonder how we can bridge the gap between law enforcement and local communities. Would more resources towards community-based programs make a difference, or perhaps increased efforts in protecting witnesses? It's crucial to create an environment where people feel safe enough to come forward. Vaughn deserved justice, and the lack of progress is discouraging. My heart goes out to his family and friends, who shouldn’t have to live without answers. If anyone has thoughts on improving community-law enforcement relations or knows about successful programs elsewhere, I'd love to hear your input.
