I've been following the case of Julio Valdes, and what really got my attention is the lack of witness cooperation in these public-space shootings. I can only imagine how hard it must be for his family, not getting the full story or really knowing why this happened to him. It's tragic that so many in the community might have seen something but feel unable to come forward, probably out of fear or distrust. I read that Baltimore's been struggling with this for a while. It's really important for us to find ways to support and encourage people to share what they know, especially when it comes to bringing justice to families like Valdes’s. Has anyone heard of successful community initiatives elsewhere that might help here?
Has anyone heard any updates or new details about the unsolved cases around the 2400 block of Barclay Street? My heart goes out to Julio Valdes's family and friends. It's so frustrating that his case—and so many others from that year—remain without resolution. I vividly remember 2017 being such a rough year for Baltimore. It's like, how does a family find peace when there are still no answers? It’s especially tough when locals don’t feel safe enough to come forward and help. This cycle of violence and fear just seems never-ending. What needs to change to start building trust between the community and the police? It's a conversation that I feel we desperately need to have if there's any hope of preventing future tragedies like Julio's. ?
Has anyone else noticed the lack of media coverage on Julio Valdes's case? It's incredibly frustrating to see how little attention it's getting compared to other incidents. Julio was just one of many victims in Baltimore that year, but each life lost, including his, deserves to be highlighted and remembered. It feels like society is becoming numb to these tragedies because they happen so frequently, and many victims don't get the justice they so desperately deserve.
What are the thoughts here on how we can bring more awareness to unsolved cases like Julio's? I wish there were more community-driven efforts to support families and push for solutions. Sending strength to his loved ones—no one should have to endure this pain alone.
