I’ve been thinking a lot about the lighting on Platt Street during the night of the shooting. I've read in previous discussions that poor street lighting can sometimes obscure a shooter or make it difficult for witnesses to get a clear look at the suspect. Does anyone local to Long Beach know if there's been any history of issues with lighting on that block? I can’t imagine living in a neighborhood where such a terrible act could happen in the shadows. It’s truly distressing for Donald Parks’ family not to have answers and for the community to feel unsafe. If better lighting could potentially help in these situations, maybe it’s something worth addressing not just here but in similar communities. Hoping for any updates soon, it’s been far too long without answers.
