I've been trying to wrap my head around the sequence of events with Norman and Melody's disappearance. What strikes me as odd is the fact that their survival gear was found miles away from their capsized skiff. Given that it was in Canoe Passage and some of it was still dry, it almost seems like they were able to initially get out of the boat and try to make a plan. I wonder if there's anyone who frequents that area who could shed more light on the currents and the typical path floating objects might take. It might offer some clues about where they could have ended up if they managed to leave the boat alive. Also, considering their subsistence lifestyle, it's not like they were inexperienced with the area's waters. Anyone local to Cordova have thoughts on the weather conditions that day or if nearby floathouse communities noticed anything unusual?
