I was reading about Deointe Fisher, and it's just so jarring to think about how some neighborhoods are constantly dealing with this level of violence. Sinclair Lane seems like just any other street, but then this tragedy happens, and it shakes everything. It's sad that in 2017, Baltimore was facing such a high number of homicides—it really makes you think about how these numbers aren't just statistics but young lives lost and families torn apart. When I see the number 343, it's overwhelming, but it's important to remember each case individually, like Deointe's. I seriously hope someone who knows something speaks up so his family can get some sense of justice. How is it that there's so much silence when there's so much pain? It must be incredibly difficult for his loved ones to have no answers. It’s really a reminder of the work that still needs to be done to get real change in Baltimore.
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share some thoughts on Deointe Fisher's tragic death and what it highlights about the ongoing struggle with gun violence in Baltimore. It's just devastating to think about how young Deointe was—only 21—and what a full life he had ahead of him. I can't imagine the pain his family and friends are experiencing right now, losing him so suddenly and violently.
Whenever I read about cases like Deointe's, I'm reminded of the bigger picture and how entrenched gun violence is in some communities. We're talking about 343 homicides in 2017 alone—it's hard to wrap my mind around those numbers. It's not just a statistic; each number was a person with family, friends, and dreams.
I believe solving these crimes and bringing justice to families like Deointe's needs everyone's effort, from the community to law enforcement. Without more people willing to come forward with information, these cases might remain unsolved, leaving families without closure. It's frustrating but just as necessary to keep pushing for systemic changes that might prevent future tragedies.
I'm hoping that as a community, we can rally together not only to seek justice for Deointe but to support each other in working toward preventing these senseless acts of violence. Sending lots of love to everyone affected by his loss.
Stay safe, everyone.
