Was anyone else struck by how quickly Tashfeen Malik was radicalized? I can't help but think about Hal Bowman and others who lost their lives in this senseless tragedy. It’s hard to fathom how someone could turn so quickly toward such violence and hatred. Hal seemed like such a steady, kind soul—dedicated to his work in public health and cherishing moments with his daughters. It just breaks my heart to think about his girls growing up without him. I wonder if the signs of radicalization were ever noticed by people around Malik and Farook, or if they were hidden by their seemingly ordinary lives. It’s terrifying to think of how lives can change in an instant due to extremism. Sending love to all the families touched by this tragedy.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the San Bernardino case for a while, and I came across an observation about Hal Bowman that I haven’t seen discussed much yet. It’s upsetting to think how this senseless tragedy disrupted lives, but I wanted to focus on Hal’s impact outside of his work. From what I've read, Hal was really active in his local community, especially when it came to supporting his daughters' school activities and organizing family hikes. It seems this made a real difference to those around him.
I can't help but admire people like him who manage to balance demanding jobs with being involved parents. It’s a reminder of how much his loss must have hit his community. If anyone has more information or memories to share about his involvement with the community or schools, it might help honor his legacy by keeping those stories alive.
Thinking of his family and friends during what must be an incredibly tough time.
Stay safe, everyone.
