I recently came across some lesser-known discussions surrounding Keith Emerson's struggles with nerve damage, and it's just so sad to think about the immense pressure he must have felt. It seems like his health issues really took a toll on him, especially when his whole identity was tied to his skill and artistry. It’s unfair that such a talented musician felt so burdened by the weight of expectations, both from others and himself. I'm deeply empathetic towards his partner, Mari Kawaguchi, who had to deal with the immediate aftermath. I can't imagine the pain she went through finding him like that. It’s a reminder of how important it is for artists to get the help and support they need, beyond just medical treatment. His situation is heartbreaking but it's also a call for us all to be more mindful and supportive of those around us, especially when they carry such unseen burdens. Thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved Keith. His music continues to resonate, even as we mourn the man behind it.
