Has anyone else been following the Fernando Rojo Jr. case? I came across an interview with one of Fernando's close friends, and it really stuck with me. He talked about how Fernando always had a smile on his face and was the kind of person who brought people together. It’s so hard to imagine how someone so full of life could be taken away like that. I know there’s been a lot of focus on the plea deal controversy, but hearing from the people who knew Fernando puts a human face on the story that the news often misses. It just makes me think about the ripple effect violent crime has on those left behind. This friend, like many others, is just trying to make sense of it all. It's a painful reality for them that their friend didn’t get the justice they feel he deserved. Has anyone else heard or read anything about how Fernando's circle of friends and family is coping now? It would be good to find a way for the community to support them through this, even if it’s just sharing thoughts or organizing something in his memory. These voices deserve to be heard too.
