I've been following Angelita Mendez’s case and something that has stood out to me is the community's response. Given the tragic circumstances, it’s been uplifting to see how people in Fresno rallied together for Angelita’s family. There were multiple vigils and community gatherings held in her memory, which just goes to show how loved she was by those around her. Her children, while incredibly young, have an army of support behind them. I hope they can find some comfort in knowing how many people are standing with them. It’s unfortunate that sometimes it takes a tragedy for a community to come together, but Angelita’s story seems to have united many in their fight for justice and prevention of further violence. My heart goes out to her family and everyone who knew her.
