Has anyone else been following the trial of Brandon Colbert Jr.? I just can't stop thinking about how tragic Carina and little Jennabel's story is. It was so jarring to read that Jennabel was only four years old and had her entire life ahead of her. I can't imagine the pain that Luis Anaya has endured after witnessing such a horrific event and then learning that the person responsible showed no remorse whatsoever. What really stood out to me, besides the senseless loss, was Colbert representing himself in court. I can't fathom how someone in his position would choose to do that. Does anyone have insight into why a defendant might make this kind of decision? It seems like a real gamble, especially with charges this serious. It's reassuring to know that the incredible work of the investigators played a crucial role. The DNA evidence turned out to be essential in making sure a dangerous individual faced justice. My thoughts are with Carina and Jennabel’s family and friends. Hoping for peace and healing for them all.
