I’ve been thinking about Keith Trevor Jackson’s case recently, particularly because it's a stark reminder of how quickly life can change—including for those left behind. I didn’t know Keith personally, but from what friends have mentioned, he was one of those rare people who was always looking out for everyone else. By all accounts, he was the kind of person you’d naturally want in your corner. It’s incredibly saddening that his life was cut short in such a senseless way. I also find myself troubled by the location of the incident. The intersection of East Alondra Blvd. and South Essey Ave. is usually busy, right? It’s almost impossible to imagine there weren’t any potential witnesses around that day who might have seen or heard something, even if it seemed insignificant at the moment. I want to extend my sincere thoughts to Keith’s family and the entire community in Compton who are still carrying the weight of this tragedy. I can only imagine the frustration they must feel as years pass with no concrete answers or justice. Here’s to hoping someone steps forward with new information that could finally bring some peace to those who cared about him.
