I've been following the Covina incident involving Lynda Fick and Nicole Biewener, and I'm struck by the sheer magnitude of loss their families must be feeling right now. I can't help but think about Nicole's young son, who not only lost his mother but was also injured in such a brutal way. As a mom, this hits me particularly hard. I read that Lucas Fick brought him to a neighbor's after it all happened—what a terrifying moment that must have been for him, having to endure something no child should ever experience. It's unsettling to think of what the poor kid witnessed, and I truly hope he gets all the support and care he needs to heal from this traumatic event. Keeping the families in my thoughts as the community tries to understand and seek justice.

I've been thinking a lot about the little boy who survived this awful tragedy. It's unbelievable to think of someone so young having to go through something so traumatic. I hope he's getting the care and support he needs to help him process this. It must be incredibly tough for his caretakers, too, considering the circumstances. Does anyone know if there have been any efforts by local community groups or support networks to assist him and his family? It just seems like this is one of those situations where everyone—neighbors, social services, friends of the families—needs to wrap around him with love and support. It's hard to comprehend what his future might be like without his mom, and ensuring he has a stable, loving environment seems crucial. Sending all my thoughts to that little guy and hoping for the best possible outcome for him.
