I came across an interview with Robert Curtis’s college coach who spoke about Curtis as not just an outstanding athlete but a genuinely kind person. It’s devastating to think how quickly life can change and the influence a split-second decision can have. The fact that Curtis was meeting someone in a Home Depot parking lot for such a dangerous transaction still baffles me, especially for someone who had so much going for them. I wonder if he felt he had no other way to support his lifestyle post-basketball, or if he had simply fallen in with the wrong crowd since coming back from China. His loss is felt deeply, and I hope those who knew and loved him find some peace amid this tragedy. If nothing else, this case emphasizes the need for stronger support systems for athletes transitioning out of their sporting careers. Curtis deserved so much more.

I was just reading up on Robert Curtis's case and it got me thinking about his incredible journey as a basketball player. It's so sad to lose someone who had such a positive impact on both the game and his community. I remember hearing how he played not only in the U.S. but also in China and Canada, bringing people together with his talent and passion for the sport. It's devastating to think about all the potential and joy that's now lost because of this senseless tragedy. My thoughts are definitely with his family and friends during this difficult time. I really hope they get the justice they deserve and that people start taking more proactive steps to prevent tragedies like this in the future. Did anyone else here follow his career or get the chance to see him play? How are you all feeling about the case?
