It's been a few years since the tragic events in Lodi, and I keep coming back to the surveillance footage. I can't imagine the heartbreak the families of Brian Soto and Gerardo Maldonado De Santiago must feel knowing that those crucial moments were caught on camera. The footage might not have been clear enough to give immediate answers, but it underscores the importance of businesses having security systems in place. It must be incredibly painful for the families to think that a clearer image or a quicker response might have changed the outcome. I'm hopeful that advancements in technology can one day prevent tragedies like this from taking so long to piece together, leading to quicker resolutions and, hopefully, some semblance of closure for those who’ve lost loved ones. Sending strength to all affected by this senseless act.
