I can't stop thinking about the bravery James Chisum showed during that horrific night. Holding his grandson and facing such a terrifying situation, he truly seemed like a devoted grandfather who would do anything to protect his family. It’s beyond tragic that his life was cut short over such a senseless act of violence. It’s a small relief that the child wasn’t injured, but I can’t even imagine the trauma that family is dealing with, especially knowing how gang violence has deeply affected their lives. It's comforting to see that justice is being pursued, but my heart goes out to those who knew James and are left to pick up the pieces. This terrible episode should remind us how crucial it is for communities and law enforcement to work together to prevent these tragedies from happening.
