It's been over a decade since Tyrone Young Sr. lost his life, and the pain for his family must still be profound. I keep thinking about his young son growing up without his father, facing milestones—birthdays, graduations—with an empty spot where Tyrone should be. It's a reality no child should have to endure. I know the NOPD has their hands full with ongoing cases, but I wonder if there’s more the community could do to support Tyrone's family. Perhaps a fundraiser or awareness campaign could help keep his case in the public eye and remind everyone that Tyrone was more than just a statistic. Every person lost to gun violence leaves behind a ripple effect of grief, and we must do what we can to support those left in its wake. If anyone has ideas on keeping this conversation going or how we can help press for answers, I’d love to hear them. The way Tyrone’s story has touched my heart, I can only hope we find justice for him and his loved ones.
