I’ve been thinking a lot about Jerry Hastings' case and how little information we have. It's hard to imagine what his loved ones are going through, knowing there are still no answers. It's scary to think about the gun violence we face these days—makes you feel like it could happen to anyone. I read somewhere that the police are still looking for leads. If anyone reading this was around the area back in June 2019 and remembers anything, please consider reaching out. Even the smallest detail might help the Hastings family find closure. I've been following Jerry Lana Hastings' case, and I couldn't help but think about the role that community engagement might play in helping to crack this case. It's been over four years since that horrific morning, and it must be devastating for Jerry's family and friends not to have closure. The neighborhood where the incident took place must have seen or heard something.
I wonder if there might be a way to bolster community trust with the police to encourage those who might have crucial information to come forward. Maybe there could be efforts to host community forums or meetings where people feel safe to speak up. Just a thought, but the cooperation of the locals could be the key to uncovering those missing pieces of the puzzle.
