I've been reading up on the tragic case of Antoine Deandre Shavers, and it's genuinely unsettling how these incidents often seem to fade from public consciousness too quickly. It breaks my heart to think about his young daughter growing up without her dad. While the city grapples with rising violence, each victim has a personal story and a family that suffers immensely. Does anyone know if there have been any community initiatives in Oakland aimed at addressing the root causes of this violence since Antoine's passing? It feels like more stories like his need to prompt real change. My thoughts go out to his loved ones.
