It's been a few years since Savion E.J. Hollingsworth's tragic death, and I can't stop thinking about how deeply this loss has affected his community. I attended Lincoln High School a few years after Savion, and even though I didn’t know him personally, the stories shared at the vigil still resonate with me. It’s the small things, like his willingness to lend a hand or the way his smile could brighten someone’s day, that keep his memory alive. I think of his family and friends often, and how they must be carrying this immense grief. It's absolutely devastating that such a promising life was cut short due to violence. I hope that by continuing to share stories and support one another, we can honor Savion's legacy and maybe even inspire some change. It's crucial to keep the conversation going about preventing violence and supporting communities impacted by it. Please share any updates if you have, and let’s keep Savion’s spirit alive.
