I've been trying to wrap my head around the circumstances of Roy Dale Ensey's tragic end, and one thing that keeps sticking out is the location where his body was found. The Santa Fe Bridge area seems like such a desolate place and yet, it's also somehow become this significant site in such an unimaginable tragedy. It's just so sad to think about how someone like Ensey, who likely already endured so much uncertainty in life, ended up in such a lonely spot in his final moments.
I've read from other discussions that construction workers discovered him the next day. I can't even begin to fathom how distressing that must have been for them either. It's hard not to feel the weight of how people like Ensey, who are on the fringes of society, can sometimes vanish into these liminal spaces, only to be found once it's too late. It makes me wonder about the system and community resources—how can we better support those in vulnerable situations before things spiral into violence? My heart goes out to those who knew him and anyone affected by these events. Such a grim reminder of how complex and unresolved disputes can lead to the worst outcomes.
