I recently came across the case of John and Jules Genis, and one thing that's been weighing on my heart is the ShotSpotter activation. It’s both a relief and a frustration. On one hand, it’s great that technology can alert law enforcement so quickly—it’s like a safety net that hopefully catches these tragedies before they get out of hand. Yet, despite this early alert, we're still left with no suspects. How disheartening for the family and friends who are yearning for answers. I can only imagine their anticipation every time a lead is investigated, hoping it will finally provide some closure. It just underscores how vital community input can be in conjunction with tech solutions. I really hope someone comes forward with information soon, and the case gets the breakthrough it desperately needs. My thoughts are with the Genis family as they navigate this incredibly difficult journey.
I just wanted to take a moment to talk about the importance of that ShotSpotter technology in the tragic case of John and Jules Genis. It's really something that BPD had an almost immediate notification of the gunfire on Butte Street because of it. I can't imagine how much worse it might have been if there was a delay in discovering what happened to those poor brothers. But it also makes me wonder—why hasn't there been more progress if the authorities had that tech advantage? It's frustrating to see the lack of updates and arrests. My heart goes out to the Genis family; they deserve answers and justice. If anyone out there knows anything, no matter how minor it seems, please step up. Every detail could be crucial.
