Every time I read about Brandon's case, I can't help but think about how sudden and senseless it all was. I came across an interview with Brandon's coach who recalled how dedicated and talented he was on the basketball court. The coach mentioned how Brandon could always be seen practicing extra hours, working on his game. It's such a tragedy that someone so young, who clearly had so much promise and was loved by those around him, had his life taken away in such a cruel way. It makes me wonder if there were any missed opportunities in mentoring others in the community, to help change the perspectives that lead to such violence. My heart goes out to Brandon's family, especially considering how they must have been looking forward to watching him grow and chase his dreams. I hope his story inspires positive change and awareness in communities everywhere.
