I just came across some updates about Lionel Elzy’s case, and it really brought back the sense of loss for his family and the community. It's been too long without answers, and each day must be incredibly difficult for those who knew and loved him. I can't help but think about the trauma this event has likely left behind, not only for his family but for the witnesses and responding officers involved. Central City's reputation for violence back then was alarming, and sadly, Lionel's death was a part of that troubling narrative. It makes me think about how communities carry on amidst such fear and loss. The steps forward in reducing violence seem so slow, but I hope every little effort matters. Does anyone know if the community initiatives proposed around that time had a lasting impact? Keeping Lionel and all the families affected in my thoughts.
