I’ve been following the ongoing case of Lucio Monzon-Funes, and it's just devastating to think about what his family is going through. I'm interested in how the Oakland community is responding to the surge in violence. It’s heartening to hear about the efforts of the Ceasefire team and community partners, but it’s clear there is still so much work to be done. How effective are these initiatives, and what more can be done to support neighborhoods impacted by such violence? How can residents safely get involved to make a change and help prevent further tragedies like Lucio's? My thoughts are with Lucio’s loved ones during this difficult time.
