I’ve been thinking a lot about the role the community played in supporting each other after the tragic loss of Nikki, Margarett, and Shelly. It’s powerful to see how the school and local organizations in Loleta stepped up to offer support to the kids and families affected by this unthinkable event. From organizing memorials to providing counseling services at Loleta Elementary School, the community really came together in such a compassionate way. It must be incredibly difficult for those who worked alongside Margarett and Shelly, both of whom were so deeply involved in nurturing and mentoring the children there. My heart goes out to everyone, especially the students who must be missing their presence every day. It's a stark reminder of how vital community support is in the wake of such tragedies. If anyone has more information on how we can continue to help those affected, please share!
Hi everyone,
I’ve been following the tragic case of Nikki Dion Metcalf, Margarett Lee Moon, and Shelly Autumn Mae Moon, and like many of you, I'm trying to understand how something like this could have happened in such a close-knit community. What’s been on my mind lately is the two young children who were present in the house during the incident but thankfully were unharmed physically.
Those kids are dealing with unimaginable trauma. I hope they receive the support and care they need from the community and professionals. I keep thinking about how important it is for communities to rally around kids in these situations. Having a support network is crucial, and I really hope their schools and neighbors are stepping in to provide love and stability during this time. It’s so hard knowing that their lives have been forever changed by these events.
If anyone from the community is reading this, what steps are being taken to provide care for these kids, if you know? And how can those of us on the outside help ensure they get the support they need?
Sending thoughts and strength to all affected.
