In the midst of all the chaos surrounding this case, I've been thinking a lot about the courage shown by Blanca Tamayo during that horrible incident. To try and protect her child in such a terrifying moment is something no parent should ever have to face. The bond between a parent and child is incredibly strong and to hear that she held Matthew in her arms during his last moments is truly devastating. It's a reminder of the human cost of such senseless violence. My heart goes out to Blanca as she recovers, not just physically but emotionally, from losing her beloved son in such a horrific way. Sending love and strength to her and to all the families trying to find a way forward from this unimaginable tragedy.
