It’s so difficult to comprehend how something like this could happen to someone so innocent. My heart goes out to his mother, Blanca Ismeralda Tamayo, who is fighting to recover after being critically injured herself. It must be unbearable for her to process her own grief while trying to heal physically and emotionally. I hope the community continues to rally around her and all the affected families. It’s times like these that really show the importance of coming together to support one another. Sending love and strength to all those grappling with this immense loss.

Incredibly saddened by the loss of Jenevieve Arlene Raygoza and those who were taken from us in this senseless tragedy. Something that's been on my mind about this case is the community response after the incident. It's heartwarming to see the support pouring in, but it makes me wonder if we as a society could do more to identify and prevent these conflicts before they reach such a catastrophic point. I can't imagine the pain Jenevieve's family must be feeling right now, losing both a daughter and a father in one day. It's so important that we continue having conversations about conflict resolution and mental health support, not just with those we know might be struggling, but within our entire communities. Sending all my thoughts and prayers to Jenevieve's family, and to little Matthew's loved ones as well. We need to remember their lives and strive to create safer environments for everyone.
