Has anyone else been keeping an eye on the mural downtown commemorating gun violence victims? I stopped by recently and spent some time at Michelle Johnson’s portrait. It's such a moving tribute. Seeing her face there brings a deep sense of the tragedy that’s affected our community. It got me thinking about how art can often capture the emotions and memories of those we've lost. Her bravery and kindness shine through in her depiction, and I hope it raises more awareness about the dire need for addressing domestic violence issues. Her family must feel a tiny bit of solace, knowing her story is reaching others and hopefully inspiring change. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend visiting; it's a powerful reminder of why we need to keep pressing for justice and reform.
