Has anyone else been thinking about the driver in this case? It must have been terrifying to be in that car, hear a loud bang, and then see what happened to Wilmer. I can't even imagine how scary and traumatic that would be. Plus, having Aguirre threaten him when he just experienced such a shocking event... it must have been a nightmare. My heart goes out not just to Wilmer's family but also to everyone who was involved that night. I hope they're getting the support they need to process and heal from this incident. It's truly a tragic situation for everyone connected to it.

Has anyone else been thinking about the role of gun safety in this tragic case? It's terrible to think that a night meant for socializing ended in such a devastating way. I keep circling back to how different things might have been if there'd been more awareness around handling firearms safely. It’s crucial that people understand the lethal potential of guns, especially in social settings where judgment might be impaired. Wilmer didn’t deserve what happened to him, and I feel for his family having to go through so much pain. They’ve lost a beloved member much too early, and I can’t imagine how they must feel seeing this case unfold with a plea deal that might not seem like justice to them.
