Does anyone else find it so profoundly touching how dedicated Bernd and Miyako were to each other? I mean, reading about their story and how it ended is just so hard to process. It's such a sad but poignant testament to their love that they chose to face the end of their lives together rather than be apart, especially with all the pain they were dealing with. Their garden, filled with those unique cacti and succulents, seemed like a living reflection of their bond—something that may seem tough on the outside, but beautiful and thriving when you really look. I hope their decision brought them the peace they so desperately sought. Just thinking about the courage it must have taken to leave that message breaks my heart a little. For those who knew them, the memories of their vibrant life surely live on even now.

Has anyone else heard about the Storch couple from Santa Barbara? It's so devastating to think about the pain they must have been in to make such a tragic decision. I keep thinking about their cactus and succulent garden that everyone in the neighborhood seemed to love. It sounds like they really poured a lot of love into it. Gardens have a way of reflecting their caretakers, and it seems theirs was a true testament to their partnership. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for their friends and neighbors who visited frequently, seeing that beautiful garden and knowing they’re no longer around. It’s truly sad to think they felt they had no other option. Keeping their loved ones in my thoughts. ??

I came across the story of Bernd "Bernie" and Miyako Storch today, and it's just so deeply saddening. It's clear that they were facing unbearable pain due to their medical issues, and it's tragic that they felt this was their only option. I can't imagine the level of despair they must have felt. I've been thinking a lot about their cactus and succulent garden. From what I've read, it was a real labor of love for them, and their neighbors often admired it. It's striking how something so full of life like a garden can sometimes mask the struggles going on behind closed doors. I hope their garden continues to thrive, maybe even as a small tribute to the bond they shared. It's so important to look out for one another and offer support whenever we can. Sending love to those touched by their story, and I hope they're at peace now.
