I've been thinking a lot about Ivan Villareal lately, and it's just so tragic what happened to him. It genuinely shakes me to my core to realize he was just 14 and already gone from this world. I can't even begin to fathom what his family is going through right now. As much as the investigation seems to be at a standstill, I think it’s important to talk about the larger issue here—how kids in areas like Compton are exposed to such violence. It’s not just about finding who did this to Ivan (though I truly hope justice comes for him), but also about preventing this from becoming the fate of any other child. Has there been any recent community action or initiatives to address gun violence or support the youth in Compton? I can't help but think there's so much more that can be done if we all come together. My heart goes out to Ivan’s family, and I really hope they find the peace and answers they deserve.
