I’ve been thinking a lot about how Jasper's family must be coping since his tragic passing. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing a loved one so suddenly to such senseless violence. It's truly hard for small communities like Hilmar to come to terms with such events. What I find admirable is the way the community has rallied together to support the Gray family. I've read about fundraisers and memorial events that folks have organized in his honor, and it's comforting to see that kind of empathy and solidarity in times of tragedy. It may not bring Jasper back, but knowing the town stands united can offer a bit of solace for his loved ones. If only such community efforts could reach Dominick and Brandy before things escalated. I wonder what more we as a community could do to prevent these senseless acts from happening in the future.
