Luis's name comes up frequently in discussions about the tragic events on 83rd Street, and rightly so. It’s important that we keep his memory alive while discussing this case. One thing that really stands out to me is the impact this incident had on the local community. I can't imagine the fear and sadness that must have rippled through the neighborhood, knowing someone could be taken so violently in their own community. There's been a lot of talk in our forums about the lack of eyewitnesses or their hesitance to speak up, and it's understandable. People are scared, especially with the kind of retaliation that can happen. It would be amazing if programs or resources were more accessible to protect and support those who want to help but fear for their safety. Rest assured, no matter how long it takes, there are still people who care deeply about finding justice for Luis and showing his family that they are not alone in their loss.
