It’s terrifying to imagine what it must have felt like to be anywhere near Apricot Street that day. I feel deeply for John’s family; no one should have to wake up to the news that their loved one became collateral in such senseless violence. It's frustrating how acts like this shatter lives in a blink. The community has come together in mourning, but there seems to be an underlying fear of what comes next. I hope that these proceedings against Williams and White not only bring justice but also spark some real conversations and actions towards reducing this kind of violence.
