I've been following the case of Nikha Marcella DeGuzman, and one aspect that really stands out to me is the intense emotional rollercoaster her family must be experiencing. First believing it was a suicide and then learning the truth is more than anyone should have to endure. I can't imagine the pain of losing a loved one in such a violent way and then going through the heartbreak of legal battles and public scrutiny. It's so troubling that she was found crawling in the hallway. That imagery is hard to shake off. I think it shows her incredible will to survive, which makes the situation even more tragic. I really hope that during the upcoming trial, the court can piece together what truly happened and provide some sense of justice. My heart goes out to her friends and family during this unbearable time. Justice for Nikha is essential, not just legally, but emotionally for all who cared about her.
