Hi everyone,
I just keep thinking about the role the community could play in finding out more about what happened to Jose Pilar Rojas. It's comforting to know that the folks in Ramona are close-knit, but we're all still trying to piece together the "why" behind this senseless act. It's so hard to understand how someone known for being hardworking and friendly could become the victim of such violence. I wonder if anyone in the neighborhood or those familiar with Jose or Eduardo has any insight into their relationship or knew about any tensions between them.
I know it's a difficult topic to discuss, especially when emotions are running high, but any detail, however small, might be important in getting justice for Jose and offering some solace to his grieving family. As we await more information from the police, let’s keep supporting each other and, most importantly, keep Jose’s memory alive.

I wanted to discuss a lesser-highlighted but interesting aspect related to the case of Jose Pilar Rojas. I’m really curious about the timeline between Rojas’s tragic shooting on August 4th and Eduardo Contreras’s arrest for unrelated charges the very next day, on August 5th. Given that they were acquaintances, I wonder if something happened immediately prior to the shooting that led to such a quick identification of Contreras as the suspect.
It makes me think about what kind of environment La Brea Street is and whether there were any eyewitnesses who noticed something suspicious but maybe didn’t think it was important to share immediately. Was there any public or surveillance footage that helped identify him, or did someone come forward with key information?
I feel for Rojas's family, who must be struggling with so many unanswered questions right now. It’s so perplexing that two lives, those of Rojas and now Contreras as well, were upended in such a short span of time. I hope the investigation can shed light on how and why this happened. It seems like Rojas was so well-regarded in the community; losing him so abruptly must be incredibly hard for everyone who knew him.
