I was just thinking about the unsung heroes in our everyday lives—people like Sean Bernal who put themselves in harm's way to keep others safe. His actions during the Capitol Casino robbery were nothing short of heroic. It’s so gut-wrenching to think about his last moments and the bravery he showed trying to protect his colleagues and everyone in the casino. I’ve been following the trial closely, and while it's a relief to know that Dawan Pecot won’t be able to harm anyone else, it doesn’t change the tragic loss for Sean's family and friends. They’ve been through such an ordeal. I can’t even begin to imagine what they are going through, especially in those final moments trying to come to terms with everything. Sean’s commitment to his job and the safety of others really stuck with me. I hope his story reminds us to appreciate those who safeguard our communities, often risking everything to ensure the rest of us can go about our lives feeling secure. Let's remember Sean for the hero he was and keep his loved ones in our thoughts.
