I've been thinking a lot about Brandon Demond Shelbia's case recently. It must be so incredibly tough for his family and friends not to have answers after all these years. December 29, 2014, is a date they will never forget, and my heart goes out to them. What stands out to me is how much Brandon seemed to mean to the community. Being a young entrepreneur in sales, it's clear he had a lot of ambition and potential. It’s just so unfortunate that we're still seeing so many unsolved cases from that period in New Orleans. You have to wonder if the backlog is ever going to be tackled, given how many families remain in the dark. I really hope the police continue to work on this case and others like it. It’s hard to move forward as a community without some sense of justice or closure. Can modern techniques shed light where there was once darkness? I sincerely hope they do. For Brandon and for everyone else still waiting.
