I’ve been reading through the details of the Hagerman case and can’t stop thinking about the impact it must have had on that small community back in 1949. The loss of a young boy, his sister, and their grandmother in one day is unimaginable. I can’t help but wonder about how the rest of the Hagerman family coped after such a devastating event. Growing up in a small town myself, I’ve seen how close-knit communities are, and I bet it left a lasting impact on everyone who knew them. Has anyone come across any personal accounts or news articles from that time that give more insight into how the village of Medina handled the tragedy? It must have been hard for everyone involved. My heart goes out to any surviving family members who might still be trying to piece together what happened.
