Did anyone ever hear from the other officer who was there during the tragic incident at Sattler’s Drugs Store? I've always wondered how they coped with witnessing such a traumatic event and losing a fellow officer in such a devastating manner. It must have been incredibly difficult to return to duty after something like that. I hope that officer received the support they needed to process what happened that day. The bravery of officers like Robert Burgess is immense, and the strength it takes for those who continue to serve is truly commendable. Would love any details on how the department supported them afterward.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the aftermath of the tragedy involving Officer Robert A. Burgess. His passing left a deep void not just within the Cheektowaga Police Department, but in the wider community as well. What strikes me most is the impact on Officer Burgess's family and how they coped with this tremendous loss. From what I've read, his colleagues have done an admirable job of keeping his memory alive, organizing memorials and dedicating spaces to honor his service and bravery. It’s touching to see the strength of community support coming together in moments of tragedy. Has anyone heard about any recent tributes or events that continue to honor Officer Burgess’s legacy? It’s so important for us to keep remembering the sacrifices made by those who put themselves in harm’s way. My heart goes out to his loved ones and the brave men and women who continue to serve, knowing the risks they face every day.
